Love and Knowledge

So far, I have had the motto: Per Aspera ad Astra (Through the difficulties to the stars). To a large extent, my life namely has meant a lot of annoying struggle against, for example, ignorance and decadence in my surroundings. And the galaxy is waiting for us humans; we are destined to expand forever and ever, also to the stars.

I have learned that scientists and astronomers and the like commonly regard intelligence as the most valuable phenomenon in the universe. However, most moral philosophers seem to claim that the paramount quality for a human being to possess, is a good heart and to be compassionate.

That's what makes people like and love you, and basically we all want unconditional love and affirmation. If you have the ability to be tender and empathic, then you automatically show signs of intelligence!

However, tenderness is of little use without adequate and relevant knowledge. It doesn't matter if your intentions are pure if you don't know what to do!

But if you can use your advanced knowledge based on a well developed sense for acceptable ethics and moral, then you are likely to make decisions that promote the well-being of the majority of your fellow-creatures. And this reasoning is virtually all-covering.

Therefore, I hereby adopt the new motto: Love and Knowledge. May it serve me well from now on and better mirror my true mentality than the rather egocentric Per Aspera ad Astra.
